The National Unity Party, led by Minister Benny Gantz, has officially proposed dissolving the 25th Knesset, which is the current Knesset. Member of Knesset Pnina Tamano-Shata submitted the bill, which calls for elections by October. Gantz’s initiative is to establish a broad and stable unity government capable of addressing significant challenges in security, the economy, and Israeli society.
Pnina Tamano-Shata stated:
“October 7th was a disaster that necessitates us regaining the trust of the people. We need to establish a broad and stable unity government capable of addressing the immense challenges in security, the economy, and Israeli society.”
If the vote for this proposal fails, a similar proposal cannot be submitted for six months. This implies Gantz likely has secured the necessary majority support to proceed with the plan.
The IDF announced the death of two soldiers who succumbed to wounds sustained following a car-ramming attack at an entrance to Nablus Wednesday night.
They are named as Staff Sgt. Eliya Hilel, 20, from Tel Zion, and Staff Sgt. Diego Shvisha Harsaj, 20, from Tel Aviv. Both were infantrymen in the Kfir Brigade’s Nahshon Battalion.
May their memory be a blessing.
