A recent IDF strike targeting Mohammad Deif highlights significant shifts in Hamas’s leadership and the IDF’s strategic gains. The attack, though not officially confirmed to have killed Deif, resulted in the death of a key commander, indicating vulnerabilities within Hamas. Yahya Sinwar, now more isolated, faces increased pressure as his co-leader’s absence disrupts their established partnership. This incident underscores the IDF’s persistent efforts to weaken Hamas’s command structure and signals that Hamas’s senior officials, including Sinwar, are under continuous threat.
The search is still on for Mohammad Deif’s body and because it has taken so long to determine his status, our sources believe at this point he’s dead. That is not confirmed yet.
One Hamas official in Qatar said that Deif is fine, but this official is not on the ground, so his report is being disregarded.
There is an important terror organizer who has, however, been confirmed dead by the IDF and that is Rafa’a Salameh, the Hamas Khan Yunis Brigade Commander. IDF fighter jets conducted a targeted strike on Saturday in the al-Muwasi humanitarian area in southern Gaza. This was confirmed on Sunday by both the IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), following a prior confirmation by the Gaza terror group. Salameh’s death marks the elimination of the third of Hamas’s five brigade commanders in Gaza during the conflict, leaving two commanders still at large. Salameh was an important figure in Hamas, and his death is a big deal.
