More than half of center-right and right-wing voters are in favor of a hostage deal, even if it risks triggering elections, according to a recent poll by the Berl Katznelson Foundation and the Midgam company. The survey revealed that 66% of the Israeli public overall supports such a deal, despite potential political ramifications. 57% of respondents believe Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s actions are hindering efforts to reach a hostage agreement, while 38% of center-right and right-wing voters disagree.
The majority of Israelis (64%) feel that governments have procrastinated in addressing the Palestinian conflict over the past decade. A significant portion of the population supports the establishment of a moderate Palestinian government under international supervision to replace Hamas, with 43% in favor, while 30% support Israeli control and settlement expansion. The survey also highlighted widespread dissatisfaction with the government’s performance, particularly in security and civil matters.
