In a heartening twist amid the challenges faced by Israeli soldiers, there’s a sizzling story of Rob Eisenberg, a 37-year-old immigrant from the US, making a significant impact on the morale of those on the front lines. Known as the “Rob King of BBQ,” Eisenberg has been putting smiles on soldiers’ faces with his flavorful barbecues as they return from the battlefield.
Originally hailing from Philadelphia, Eisenberg, also known as “Rob Melech HaMangal” in Hebrew, embarked on this journey of culinary generosity after hosting BBQs for friends at his apartment. Encouraged by positive feedback, he transformed his passion into a business, focusing on smoked meat BBQs for small private events.

Following the events of October 7, Eisenberg realized he could channel his business and culinary talent to support the soldiers across Israel. Since then, he has organized dozens of BBQs, ranging from bases bordering Lebanon and Syria to those located just half a mile away from Gaza. To date, he has fed upwards of 3500 soldiers.
Eisenberg, in his own words, shares his motivation, saying, “If they are going to risk their lives 24/7 for weeks and months, I can be down there on the front lines, risking it for a few hours to lift their morale and give them the best meat they ever tasted.” His commitment to boosting the spirits of those who serve is evident in every grill, where the word “AISH” (fire in English) takes on a deeper meaning.
As Eisenberg continues his mission, he remains dedicated to supporting and uplifting as many soldiers as possible, demonstrating that a well-cooked meal can be a powerful gesture of appreciation and encouragement for those safeguarding the nation.
