Sunday evening, three people were seriously injured by a terror knifing attack at a mall in the southern Israeli city of Gan Yavne. The Magen David Adom ambulance service picked up the victims, a 25-year-old man, 20–year-old man, and 17-year-old boy. They were rushed to Assuta Hospital in the nearby city of Ashdod. All three victims are in very serious condition, and the medics had to fight the 25-year-old man from dying in transport.
Monday morning, two of the victims were transferred to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv and Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva for neurosurgery. The third victim is still in Assuta hospital, where his stab wounds are still being treated.
The attacker is identified as a 19-year-old Palestinian from the town of Dura in the West Bank, who was shot dead by security officers at the scene. Investigators are trying to figure out if he entered Israel through a hole in the security barrier or if he was employed in the mall illegally.
