Three Israelis were murdered at the Allenby Bridge crossing in the Jordan Valley on Sunday morning. A terrorist, who arrived from Jordan in a truck, opened fire on workers at the terminal between Jordan and the West Bank, killing three. He was then shot and killed by security personnel.
The victims were identified as Adrian Marcelo, 55, Yohanan Shchori, 61, and Yuri Birnbaum, 65. Medics who were deployed to the scene described the incident as “very severe.” According to initial reports, the suspect, a Jordanian trucker, hid a weapon in his truck, retrieved it, and opened fire on people in the cargo terminal area.
Reuters says the Jordanian Interior Ministry will also be conducting an investigation. The Allenby Bridge will be closed until further notice. The IDF suspects the truck used by the terrorist at the Allenby Bridge crossing might have been rigged with explosives. Bomb disposal experts were sent to inspect the vehicle.
