Mikhail Samara, a 27-year-old student originally from Kafr Yasif, has died from the injuries he sustained during a Hezbollah drone attack on the Western Galilee, hospital officials report.
Samara, who had returned to Israel from Czechia to visit his family, was critically injured on Tuesday when an Iron Dome missile, intended to intercept a drone, malfunctioned and struck Route 4 near Nahariya. The resulting shrapnel caused severe injuries, and despite being treated at Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, he succumbed to his wounds on Friday.
The attack also resulted in 19 other injuries, including six soldiers who were wounded when one of the drones hit a nearby military base. Most of the injuries were minor. May his memory be a blessing.
Drones were spotted crossing from Lebanon into Israel Tuesday, so that’s today and the fallout from this actually injured 19 people. When one of the drones in the western galilee was being intercepted by the IDF’s interceptor missile, it actually did not hit the drone and instead struck down to the ground. The impact severely wounded one man in his 40s who was hurt by shrapnel while driving a vehicle, which then hit into a safety barrier. A woman in her 30s was also hurt by shrapnel and is now considered to be in light-to-moderate condition. Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that a man in his 30s was in very serious condition with a severe head injury. The wounded people were mostly transported to Galilee Medical Center for treatment. Following the attack, alerts sounded in several locations, including Nahariya and Acco. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the drone launches.
