The soldiers fell in a series of incidents that occurred on Wednesday, marking a devastating day in the conflict.
Among the fallen are Capt. Harel Etinger (23) from Eli, a team commander in the Egoz Unit, Commando Brigade, and Capt. Itai Ariel Giat (23) from Shoham, an officer in the Yahalom Unit of the Combat Engineering Corps. Both officers were killed in combat while leading their units in southern Lebanon.
Joining them in the ultimate sacrifice were Sgt.-Maj. Noam Barzilay (22) from Kokhav Ya’ir, Sgt.-Maj. Or Mantzur (21) from Beit Aryeh, and Sgt.-Maj. In addition, St.-Sgt. Almken Terefe (21) from Jerusalem and St.-Sgt. Ido Broyer (21) from Ness Ziona, both soldiers in the Golani Reconnaissance Unit, Golani Brigade, were also killed in separate combat operations during the ground offensive.
The IDF confirmed that during the same incident that claimed the lives of Captains Etinger and Giat, an officer and four additional soldiers from the Egoz Unit were seriously wounded and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The IDF and Israeli leadership have expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the fallen and pledged continued support as the nation mourns these brave soldiers. Their memory will forever be honored as part of Israel’s commitment to securing its borders and citizens.
The situation in southern Lebanon remains volatile, with ground operations continuing as part of Israel’s broader military efforts in the region.
