Four soldiers were killed and several wounded during an operation in Tel Sultan, Rafah after entering a booby-trapped building. IDF officials say that Hamas terrorists have been concealing explosives around many homes and even entire neighborhoods in Rafah, then hiding in tunnels, waiting for Israeli troops.
The soldiers who lost their lives have been named, they are: Cpt. Daniel Mimon Toaff, 23. Staff Sgt. Amit Bakri, 21. Staff Sgt. Dotan Shimon, 21. All three served in the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion. The fourth soldier is Staff Sgt. Agam Naim, 20, a paramedic and first female soldier to be killed in the ground offensive against Hamas. Another five from the Shaked Battalion were also hurt during the incident. An officer and two soldiers were severely wounded while two more soldiers were moderately wounded.
