Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed the assassination of Hashem Safieddin, the presumed successor to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, in a direct message to the Lebanese public. “We’ve killed thousands of Hezbollah terrorists, including Nasrallah, his successor, and the successor to his successor,” Netanyahu stated.
In his remarks, he urged the Lebanese people to take action, saying, “Free your country from Hezbollah for the war to end.”
IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari has confirmed that several top commanders from Hezbollah’s Southern Front were killed in a large wave of airstrikes in southern Lebanon yesterday.
“More than 50 terrorists were killed in the strike, including six senior commanders. This is a significant blow to Hezbollah,” Hagari stated during a press conference.
He added that those targeted were key figures who were preparing to infiltrate Israel, with plans to attack northern towns, murder, and kidnap Israeli civilians when ordered.
