The United Arab Emirates is getting its first-ever kosher supermarket, and it opened this week in Dubai. It’s called the Rimon Supermarket. “Rimon” in Hebrew means pomegranate. Jewish and Israeli products are now in high demand in the UAE due to the 2020 normalization deal, which is bringing tons of Israelis and Jews to tour and visit the country. The store is a seven-minute drive from the Burj Khalifa and will cater to the UAE’s Jewish community. The initiative was led by Rabbi Levi Duchman, who founded the Emirates Agency for Kosher Certification. The media has been calling it “Peace from the People,” and this seems like a pretty good example.
